FASEB advocacy webinar to explore next steps for research funding after election day

By | November 9, 2016

Congress returns to work next week for a “lame duck” session to finalize the fiscal year 2017 federal budget, including the proposed $2 billion increase for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, November 16 from 2–3 p.m. (EST) for researchers, post docs, graduate students, and others who want to make sure their voice is heard on Capitol Hill during this critical time.

This webinar will provide an update on the funding outlook for NIH, the National Science Foundation, and other federal science agencies. Participants will also learn about tools they can use to contact their legislators, tips to ensure that their message is effective, and data to illustrate the importance of NIH funding in their state and congressional district.

For more information, download the webinar invitation. Spread the word by sharing it with friends and colleagues. Register for the webinar to receive instructions on how to join the event. You must register by November 15 in order to participate.

Questions can be directed to FASEB’s communications office.
