FASEB Releases FY 2014 NIH State Funding Factsheets

By | March 25, 2015

The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) has released updated FY 2014 National Institutes of Health (NIH) State Factsheets. The redesigned factsheets display NIH funding levels for all states and their largest institutions. In addition, each factsheet displays support for clinical trials, training grants, and data on bioscience businesses, jobs, and wages.

“We hope that scientists and other citizens concerned about scientific progress will use this information, sharing it with their elected representatives and their communities,” stated Joseph R. Haywood, PhD, FASEB President. “Many elected officials do not realize the impact of NIH funding and how it comes back to communities throughout the country.”

The State Factsheets will soon be supplemented with FY 2014 District Factsheets, which will also include information on NIH, the National Science Foundation, the Department of Energy Office of Science, and the USDA Agriculture and Food Research Initiative funding. Both the new NIH State Factsheets and District Factsheets will be useful to anyone concerned about federal funding for research in the U.S.
